I read Porter in high school, did an author study on her, and loved her at the time, but I think I failed to appreciate her fully at that age because recently I came across the story "He" in a collection and was astonished by it. Have you read that? What an amazing story! She is a wonderful writer, and your post makes me want to read her all over again.
