I haven't read much by Rushdie and none of this bigger books, only some small novels. I have read Roy though. Thought it was fascinating, which does not automatically mean good, I didn't understand everything I had the idea. Nor did I agree with it all. Yet it kept me going. That resembles the way you describe Rushdie. Where should I start? Moor? Midnight or Satanic verses?
