Well, I finished -Lonesome Dove- this morning. The end of the book was heartbreaking. I am always immensely moved by the inability to express emotion. It's funny that no matter how eloquent Hamlet is about the state of his feelings, I will always be more touched by the inarticulate cowboys who love each other so strongly and can only express it by exchanging three sentences about the coming storm.
So now I need something new to read. I could move right on to -Streets of Laredo-, the sequel, but I'm not sure that's what I want to do. After the way -Lonesome Dove- ended, I'm not sure I can take any more right away. It wouldn't hurt me to read something a little bit lighter, I really haven't all summer. Maybe I should get some Vonnegut...
I hope that I don't spend my whole day in the strange sad mood that -Lonesome Dove- has put me in.
