I just finished reading D.R. MacDonald's short story collection All the Men Are Sleeping. The short story of the same title takes place during a furious blizzard in Cape Breton, and is really fantastic. Also, Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale is very wintery.
I started reading The Centaur about six months ago and never got far into it - I think I was in the wrong mood for it, so it's back on my bookshelf waiting patiently to be picked up again. Thanks for reminding me about it!
