i'm a very very complex person

I read Byatt's Possession earlier in the year and bought Angels and Insects, so I'm eager to read it having read your review. I've been holding off on the Calvino, because I often don't have patience for those self-referential not-a-novels that may have been clever at one time, but now feel very gimmicky and flashy to me. I keep hearing wonderful things about it, though, so I'll probably ultimately give in, especially considering that I own it.
