Well, I decided on Drop City by T.C. Boyle. I'm now about three quarters of the way through it, and I'm definitely enjoying it. It's fun and pretty light, but the writing is very sharp. It basically seems like typical Boyle, although I'm beginning to get the feeling that things are going to turn rather dark soon, so I'm interested to see if Boyle takes it in another direction.

Hey, I just added you to my friends list so I could keep tabs on your reactions to the works your reading. Very interesting. You seem to tackle a lot of things that I haven't read. Thanks :)

Thanks for adding me. As you may have noticed, there's not a lot of action in this journal, so I'm always up for a new friend. Feel free to comment whenever.

Can I ask how you found me? I don't think I recognize your username...

I saw your comment on [livejournal.com profile] booksnob about this being where you post your thoughts on the books you're reading. I thought that was interesting mostly because that's my whole point of joining those literary communities.

Oh, that explains it. I haven't had much luck with the book communities. They mostly seem to consist of people talking about the same books over and over again. Every once in a while there's an interesting post though, so I stick around. Have you found any good ones?
